Omni "hyperphantasia" AI Film Screening

6:30 pm – 9:30 pm · $28 · Talk · OMNI AI Cinema

Curated hour of GenAI short films followed by panel with Alex Proyas and other filmmakers shaping what this new medium can be.

Flex by ISPT The Collider · Parker St, 477 Pitt St, Haymarket
Register on Luma

You'll watch an hour of curated AI-generated short films from international creators, then sit down with director Alex Proyas (The Crow, Dark City), fellow filmmakers Clayton Jacobson and Yan Chen, AI ethicist Toby Walsh, and curator Thea-Mai Baumann for a live discussion about what this emerging medium can become. The panel will dig into how artists are using generative AI tools to tell stories in ways that weren't possible before, and what authorship and craft mean when the creative tools themselves are new. This is the third OMNI festival screening in Australia, and it's designed for filmmakers, creatives, technologists, and anyone genuinely curious about where cinema is heading. Come ready to watch work that's visually stunning and ask serious questions about the medium being invented in real time.
